Information We Collect

When you book a vehicle or contact us, we collect the following information:

• Full name, email address, phone number, and date of birth
• Home address and driver's license information
• Gig platform information (e.g. Uber, Lyft, DoorDash) if applicable
• Payment information processed securely through Stripe — we do not store card numbers
• Electronic signature, IP address, and timestamp recorded at time of agreement signing
• Vehicle usage data including GPS location and mileage tracked via fleet management systems
• Communications you send to us via email, phone, or our contact form

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to operate our rental business, including:

• Processing and managing your vehicle rental booking
• Sending booking confirmations, payment receipts, and rental agreement copies
• Sending transactional SMS notifications including booking confirmations, payment alerts, and mileage usage notifications
• Verifying your identity at the time of vehicle pickup
• Tracking vehicle mileage and processing overage charges per your rental agreement
• Complying with Colorado state law and our insurance obligations
• Responding to your inquiries and providing customer support

SMS Messaging

If you check the optional SMS box on the booking form, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages from Joyryde at the phone number you provided. These messages include booking confirmations, pickup instructions, return reminders, and payment alerts.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your rental activity.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent are collected only to deliver these rental notifications. We do not share, sell, or rent mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. To opt out of SMS messages at any time, reply STOP to any message we send. To request help, reply HELP. Opting out of SMS will not affect your rental agreement or account status.

Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Twilio (SMS), and Railway (infrastructure) — each bound by their own privacy policies and data protection agreements
• Insurance: We may share required information with our insurance provider in connection with a claim
• Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Joyryde or others

Data Retention

We retain your booking records, signed agreements, and payment records for a minimum of 7 years in accordance with Colorado business record-keeping requirements. Electronic signature records including typed name, IP address, and timestamp are retained for the life of the agreement and for a minimum of 5 years thereafter.

Your Rights

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, or request deletion of your information where we are not legally required to retain it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the information below.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe and never stored on our servers. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
